We're delighted that SunGard's Dubai City Day has been such a success. Over 250 members of the Middle East finance industry joined us during the afternoon to discuss the challenges that the industry continues to face in an ever-changing business landscape.

For those of you who joined us, we hope that you gained valuable insight from the plenary session’s panel discussion on “The Future of Middle East Banking and Financial Markets.” Moderated by Nadine Hani of the Al-Arabiya news channel, the panel of experts – Dr. Jarmo Kotilaine, chief economist, National Commercial Bank; Jakob Thomsen, CEO, Saxo Bank Dubai; Dr. Sabah Hamad Al-Sabah Al-Binali, head of Credit at SHUAA Capital and vice-chairman of Gulf Finance Corporation; Maged Shawky, chief executive officer , Beltone Financial Holding – led the audience through a thought-provoking discussion on what lies ahead for the Middle Eastern economy.

The afternoon also consisted of focus sessions on topics such as Transforming Money Management; Stewarding the Balance Sheet; Optimizing Commercial Lending; Achieving Operational Maturity; Optimizing Customer Management; and Expanding Business with Global Connectivity, Electronic Trading and Position Control.
